We used to think high tech gadgets were only in James Bond movies. But, electronic gadgets—wired and wireless—are everywhere these days. On this episode we look at all the latest and greatest gadgets. Some are very useful, others are just fun, but all of them are definitely high tech!
Colin has worked for the CLA-TV Studios within the University of Minnesota for the last six years, helping students learn the field of video production. He follows emerging trends within the field of video technology, with a particular focus on the ways in which user interaction can be made easier and more understandable. Colin graduated from the University of Minnesota, College of Liberal Arts with a degree in political science, and continues to take particular interest in the ways in which politics and technology interact.
Brad is an associate professor in the Department of Design, Housing, and Apparel at the University of Minnesota. He teaches graphic design, multimedia, critical thinking, and creative problem solving courses. He won a McFarland Creative Teaching Award from the College of Human Ecology in 2002 and the college's e-Teaching award in 2005. His research focuses on the use of technology to aid cognition. He currently serves as chair of the eScholarship Task Force and recently published work in Educational Technology, Computers in Human Behavior, and TechTrends. He has served as a 2001-02 Digital Media Center faculty fellow, co-directed the University's Learning Software Design Competition, been awarded numerous grants for work in multimedia and distance education, and helped initiate a new MFA program in interactive design. He also teaches instructional design for Capella University.
